Medicare Part D
Medicare Part D is the prescription drug coverage part of Medicare. Not enrolling into a Part D or going 63 days or more after the intial enrollment period is over will carry a penalty.
To avoid this penalty it is very important that you obtain creditable prescription drug coverage. To find out which prescription drug coverage is available for you call us or complete the form on found on this page and we will contact you with the information about which plans are available for you.
How much is the Part D penalty?
The Part D late enrollment penalty depends on how long you went without Part D or creditable prescription drug coverage.
In 2020 the late enrollment penalty is $32.74 and this is multiplied by the number of full, uncovered months that you went without Part D or creditable prescription drug coverage. The monthly premium is rounded to the nearest $0.10 and then it gets added to the monthly Part D Premium and doesn't go away.
We offer free help with completing the Extra Help application with social security.
If Social Security approves the application for Extra Help you don't pay the late enrollment penalty. To find out if you qualify for Extra Help we can help process the application and Social Security will make a determination based on certain factors if you qualify for the Extra Help.
